At Slat Wall Pro, we handcraft our slat walls from premium hardwoods like maple, oak, and walnut—no cheap laminates or artificial materials. Our custom-made slats are built to fit each project perfectly, ensuring a high-quality, eco-friendly, and American-made product.

In our line of work we use natural colors of the wood. Walnut for darker color, oak and maple for lighter solutions. All wood is protected by Rubio Monocoat oil which is 0% VOC and does not contain any water or solvents. It is based on natural ingredients. This means that the product is very safe for your environment.

Some customers prefer to paint our slats. In that case we use Benjamin Moore’s Eco Spec line. This 100% acrylic interior paint contains zero VOC’s and emissions—it’s also Green Seal certified for its protective limits on toxins and sustainable packaging. The brand uses a patented Gennex® colorant on its paints which offers excellent color retention while ensuring the paint remains zero-VOC even after tinting. It is certified Asthma and Allergy Friendly for peace of mind.

Our custom wooden slat walls are crafted from real hardwood, offering the highest quality and sustainability for your space. We use only premium maple, oak, and walnut, ensuring a natural and timeless aesthetic. As we continue to expand our offerings, more wood options will become available, giving you even greater customization choices.

Unlike mass-produced alternatives, our slats are cut to precise lengths for every project, providing a perfect fit tailored to your needs. Each slat measures 3/4 in. thick and 6/4 inches wide, spaced 2 inches apart. Customer can order any type of customization of length, width and spacing.

We take pride in offering the safest option for homes and businesses. Our slat walls contain no chemicals, artificial materials, or particle boards—just pure, natural wood. We stand apart from competitors who use laminated HDF, a material that is essentially cardboard in disguise. With us, you get authenticity and integrity in every piece.

How it works

At Slat Wall Pro, our slats are expertly milled and finished at our shop in Northern Virginia and delivered free of charge to your home or office. We are not offering shipping option at this point but happy to work with you in the DMV area. Please give us a call if longer travel times are expected.

Step One: Consultation

The process begins with a consultation. You can call us to schedule a visit with our designer to discuss the details of your project. During this stage, we determine the type of wood, color scheme, finishes, and pattern, and take precise measurements.

We also assess the installation area to ensure there are no hidden obstacles within the wall that could be damaged during installation. Once all details are finalized, we proceed with signing a contract and require a 50% down payment.

Our consultations are free if a contract is signed at the end of the meeting. Otherwise, a $200 consultation fee applies, which can later be deducted from the down payment if you decide to move forward with the project.

Step Two: Milling & Finishing

Once your order is finalized, we begin crafting your slats using sustainably sourced hardwood from Northern Virginia. Our commitment to eco-friendly practices ensures that all materials are harvested responsibly, preserving the environment while delivering the highest quality wood.

Each slat is carefully milled to exact specifications, ensuring precision and consistency in every piece. Our experienced craftsmen, with backgrounds in building and remodeling, bring their expertise to every step of the process, meticulously sanding and finishing each slat to perfection.

We use advanced techniques like molecular bonding technology to enhance the natural beauty of the wood while maintaining its durability and structural integrity. This stage typically takes 3-4 days to complete, guaranteeing that you receive a flawless product tailored to your space.

Step Three: Installation

Our team arrives fully prepared with all necessary tools to complete the installation efficiently and professionally. To minimize noise pollution, we use battery-powered nail guns instead of compressor-powered equipment.

Our team takes great care to protect your space by wearing shoe covers and exercising caution throughout the process. For your peace of mind, we are fully insured and ready to handle any unexpected situation.

We make all our cuts outside rain or shine protecting the work area. And of course we clean up after the job is done leaving our customers with stunning accent walls that last a life time and spark conversations.
